Some of you have sent questions to Miss Pflaumer and me asking for feedback on your first lecture. While that is admirable, we are not going to respond to these requests to help you revise and edit your first draft...
Why?
This essay is meant to be your first draft. You will get participation credit for completing the assignment and passing it in on time. Miss Pflaumer and I will be responding to your first draft and returning your essay to you for your first revision for a grade during the month of September.
Many of the summer preparation assignments are designed to let us know what your skill level is as you enter this course, a baseline score. Knowing the baseline scores will help each of us design instructional activities that meet you where you are and support your growth toward the expectations of the College Board and its Advanced Placement Program.
That being said, do your best.
You may write a cover letter with a list of questions or focus areas for specific feedback.If you know you have plans for further development or research, or if you have specific questions about how you handled the diction, syntax, or organization of your lecture, let us know.That is how writers communicate with editors when they have concerns about the quality of their writing or their decisions in a given draft.
Remember, always save your work at each draft so that you can have a complete record of your work over time.
